Canton Pomeranians

I have heard some good news from India.  Our homebred Ph Ch Canton Versace won 6^th Best in Show under Judge Mukul Baid and 8^th Best in Show under Partha Chatterjee in Guwahati, India, last Sunday, November 29, 2009.  In India, they have 8 Best in Show winners for an ALL Breed dog show.  This means  that Versace won the Breed and implies that he also won Group 1; or the very least a Group 2 since there are 7 Groups.  I am looking forward to his Indian Championship title soon.  Congratulations to owner Rajesh Saraf(Bobby) for this good win!

Versace(Left) is really pretty pretty and I really liked him.  He reminds me of Hadleigh dogs with medium bones and a more profuse coat.  He is sired by Ph Ch Canton Golden Goblet(Middle) and Canton Collection who was sired by a tightly lined Chriscendo dog.  Versace’s littermate, Ph show pointed Canton Visconti(Right) has also been exported to India.   Though littermates, both are entirely different looking dogs with Versace being on the medium boned looks more of my old Canton bloodline whereas Visconti is heavier boned which is more of the Chriscendo bloodline.  Collection’s littermate, Ph Gr Ch Canton Classica was an unbeatable female and has produced champions for me, namely Ph Ch Canton Classico and Ph Ch Canton Classic Star. Both dogs are again totally different even though their sires are so much related; ie, Classico is by Ph HOF Canton Braveheart whilst Ph Ch Canton Classic Star is by Braveheart’s  son, Ph HOF Am Tha Ch Canton Bravestar.

It would seem to me that my line has combined well with Chriscendo.  It would be very interesting to see how Goblet will be produce when bred to Pufpride bitches and those from the line of Parker.  With this in mind and to further our quest for international cooperation amongst Pomeranian breeders, we have decided to send Goblet to Pufpride Virginia Dimmick and to CJ Peep Susan Langry/Julia Smith to try various breeding combinations.  We will see…

In the meantime, we are very pleased with our cross with the Pufpride lines having produced several champions for us.  Ph Ch Pufpride Cash Attraction(Left), who is similarly bred to Parker(aka Am Ch Pufpride Sweet Dreams), and Parker sons, Ph Gr Ch Canton Dreamer at Allayn(middle) and Tiki, aka CJ Peep Tequila Sunrise(Right) has been producing wonderful puppies for us.  For more details, you can see their puppies in our progenies/reverse pedigree section of their profile. 

Since Cash is similarly bred to Parker, it would be interesting to see his daughter bred to my Parker boys.  This will be almost like a half brother half sister breeding which is one of my favorite style of breeding.  The first litter of this kind of combination is now on the ground and we are once again excited to see them grow.  We will see…
