Canton Pomeranians

It is again Christmas- time and this is a good opportunity to reflect on what has transpired over this  year and to reach out for the new year ahead.  As we do this, I cannot help but remember what I once heard: 

“...Give honor to those who have been ahead of us,

Celebrate with our contemporaries,

And encourage those that come after us.  “

As we get sentimental during this Christmas season, let us think how we can honor  our elders who may have inspired us...or even those who have not been functional.  I recall a biblical promise that if you honor your elders, you will have a long and peaceful life.  Let us also honor  those Pomeranian breeders who have been ahead of us.  They may not be the best people, but their work serves as the foundation of the show stock of the Pomeranian world today.  True, there may be reservations about this, and I would like to quote a Chinese saying, “Spit in the sky, and it hits your face.”

Let us enjoy the friendships that we have accumulated, yes, Pomeranian friends too.  Let the spirit of unity make us stronger.  It has been said that if man is united, they can do anything.

Finally, let us think how we can encourage and be an inspiration to the next generations.  I am sure that most of us have the best of intentions but it may have not worked.  I can only advise to try another way.  Yes, this includes encouraging the next generation of Pomeranian breeders too.

For this Christmas Season, let me share a Scriptural blessing which has inspired me so much:

“May the Lord bless you and watch over you, guard you and keep you.  May the Lord make His face shine upon you, enlightening you and be gracious to you.  May He lift up His countenance on you and give you peace.”
