Canton Pomeranians

Last Sunday, July 27,  2008,  the Philippine Pomeranian Club Inc sponsored a seminar entitled "Show Grooming & Handling Focusing on the Pomeranian Breed" at the PCCI showsite in Marikina.  Inspite of the typhoon weather, there were more than 50 people who attended.  Most of them were new faces.  A couple from as far as Naga flew in just to attend this seminar; some from Tarlac and Bulacan.  I was impressed with their interest and enthusiam. 

The first part, I demonstrated the daily routing of grooming a pomeranian.  Then, some trimming and show preparations.

The second part of the seminar was the training and show handling.  Tino demonstrated how to use the bait, posing the dog and walking the dog.  Rico Villanueva and I took turn in the mic explaning the procedures while Tino went to the motions.

Pictured on the left is a chocolate and tan dog which I enjoyed seeing.
He is nicely packaged, compact, with a pretty face. He is owned by Roy Badillo. I encouraged Roy to show this dog because most definitely he should do well in the ring.  Several months back, I have seen a repeat breeding of this dog that was chocolate and tan too, but I do not think it was as good. 

I found the time well spent having met new friends.  I hope to be seeing more of them in the near future.

On August 30, 2008, the Philippine Pomeranian Club Inc will be having a Back to Back Specialty Show at 1 pm in the same venue.  Dr Raymundo Lo(Pekingese breeder) and Ms Maribel Sy(Shih Tzu breeder) will be adjudicating the event.  After the show, the club will once again be holding a Pomeranian seminar entitled:  Breeding Basics & Pomeranian Bloodlines in the Philippines with Dr Lo and myself as the resource persons.

The following day, on August 31, 2008, the Philippine Pomeranian Club Inc will be holding a Back to Back ALL Breed Dog Show in the same venue.  One Ring will be judged by Ms Jackie Perry(FCI licenced judge  who is presently residing in Thailand).  The second Ring will be by Mr Bobby Tesoro except for Terrier and Sporting Group which will be done by Mr. Fred Salud.
